How You Can Volunteer

PCRID's Programs & Committees are composed of members who volunteer to assist in the operations of the organization. Members may volunteer for several programs or committees. Consider volunteering and give back to your organization!

Informal Volunteering

There are lots of ways we could use your support -- both big and small. Here are a few informal ways of helping out:

  • Bring our info to your locations! All members should recieve our e-newsletter and other announcement. If your school or workplace has a bulletin board you can share to, or if an opportunity to share comes up in a class or meeting, this can be the perfect time to spread the word about PCRID and our activities.

  • Click and share. Social media has the potential to connect us to a great number of people -- but without you it may be an unrealized potential! Help us get our postings in front of more eyes by liking our posts or writing a comment. Remember, little clicksnhave big impacts.

  • Come early, stay late. Workshop organizers can always use a few extra hands whether it's to help post directional signage or to help a presenter get set up. We always welcome willing volunteers to help us get ready for a big crowd. Similarly, extra hands at the end of an event are always nice to be sure we leave our rented spaces just how we found them.

  • Compare calendars. With the number of organizations in our area, it's impossible to avoid all scheduling conflicts. But, if you know about an event being planned, check our calendar to see if we are already planning an event. And if we're not, please let us know before your event goes public so that we can avoid conflicts too! Reach out to calendar@pcrid.org.

Below are descriptions of the various committees open to volunteers.
